IKO enertherm foil faced rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation is a critical component for improving the thermal performance of the building envelope. As well as meeting changing legislative requirements to reduce energy loss, the thermal properties of IKO enertherm insulation can significantly improve occupant comfort.

IKO enertherm rigid insulation boards can be used for all types of applications, including walls, floors, pitched roofs and flat roofs. IKO enertherm is a high-performing, resilient, durable and rigid insulation solution.

Due to its specific composition, IKO enertherm insulation is energy efficient, and it also has a longer service life without compromising its insulating qualities.

Applications

Wall insulation

IKO enertherm can be used in external cavity walls and timber and steel framed dwellings with a masonry or timber clad outer leaf.

Insulated plasterboard

IKO enertherm is ideally suited to use under rafters, in order to reduce the overall heat loss through the roof and eliminate thermal bridging.

Floor insulation

IKO enertherm ALU is suitable for new build and refurbishments projects. Its specific properties optimise the performance of underfloor heating.

Loft insulation

Loft floor insulation, whether it’s a retrofit project or a loft or attic space conversion, can be an important consideration when utilising the attic for head height space.

Pitched roof insulation

Installing high performance, rigid IKO enertherm insulation boards can significantly improve the thermal performance of the space, and therefore the entire building.

Flat roof insulation

For best performance in flat roofing applications, it is important that compatibility of the insulation with the waterproofing system is taken into consideration.

What are the benefits of IKO enertherm insulation?

High performance: Despite having a thinner board thickness than other materials, such as EPS, XPS and mineral wool, IKO enertherm insulation has a higher insulation value. This ensures optimum use of available space on the roof, in the floor or in the cavity.

Lightweight: At around 32 kg/m³, IKO enertherm is a lightweight insulation board with ergonomic benefits for easier handling.

Less volume: The thinner board thickness limits the volume of insulation boards needed for the same insulation value, resulting in lower transport costs.

Dimensionally stable: The fine cell structure of the insulation boards offers better mechanical properties than coarser foam. This means it is more dimensionally stable and ensures longevity of the insulation capacity.

Fire performance: IKO enertherm ALU has a reaction to fire class NPD & F in accordance with EN 13501-1. IKO enertherm ALU rigid boards also have a Class 1 rating when tested to BS 476-7. The insulation board has a low to zero smoke emission rate and does not melt nor drip. This fire performance is an inherent part of the foam cell structure.

Reaction to Euro classes up to B-s2, d0 (Steel Deck) are achieved depending on application and build-up. However, specific fire resistance systems will depend upon the conditions of use. Further details of fire performance may be obtained from IKO technical services.

Versatile: IKO enertherm ALU is used in multiple applications. Whatever application you have in mind for the insulation, you can rest assured that it will work with a range of finishes.

Moisture resistant: IKO enertherm has very low water absorption and is rot and mould-proof. As a result, the insulation value remains intact even under adverse conditions.

More sustainable: IKO products are manufactured in the UK from responsibly, and where possible, locally sourced materials. This helps to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the sustainability credentials of your project.
