Oldway Primary School – IKO ULTRA Prevent 25

Oldway School is a primary school in the Paignton area and is part of the Riviera Trust.

IKO assisted Futures for Somerset (the building surveyors) with a detailed survey report including intrusive core sample analysis of every roof area.

The roofs were suffering from a varied range of issues from water ingress, lack of thermal insulation and breakdown of the existing membrane and as such.

ISSUES IDENTIFIED

Different roof areas (varying sizes) on multiple buildings.

Each roof area designed separately and had to take into consideration low upstands, raise windows and supplying flame free solutions where there was a flame risk.

As with many school projects the pupils were on site and the specification and installing contractor had to take this into account from design to application.

SOLUTION

IKO’s specification which was followed, advised of areas which were stripped to the deck and areas fit for an overlay. An IKO Insulations designed cut to fall insulation scheme together with IKO Superlite Rooflights to complete the full thermal upgrade.
