The IKOslate System comprises composite roof tiles manufactured from mineral-reinforced 99% recycled, and re-engineered materials and ancillaries that create a homogenous roof system where all components work in harmony. This means a more robust roof system that is easier to install and offers long lasting protection.
Traditional slate tiling is a great looking roofing material that is heavy, expensive, and difficult to work with. Each IKOslate tile is around 80% lighter than traditional slate tiles of the same size. The unique structure gives the tile a superior strength and makes it easier to handle and install.
IKOslate has the same aesthetic qualities as slate due to moulds of quarried slates being used to form the composite tiles. Each mould imparts different textures and patterns to the tile and its natural look is enhanced by a realistic slate grey finish.
The setting of an IKOslate roof is simpler than a traditional slate roof and, unlike natural slate, IKOslate can be installed using power tools. Tiles can be nailed down using a hammer or nail gun and they can be cut with a hacksaw or jigsaw.
Any offcuts are 100% recyclable. IKOslate is suitable for installation on felt-and-batten roofs with pitches from 22.5° and on fully boarded roofs from 18°.
IKOslate allows an experienced roofer, or contractor without extensive roofing experience, to deliver a sustainable roof with the look and feel of slate faster and more economically than previously possible.
