Ixworth Place, London – IKO Goldseal

Project description

Southern Housing Group required a solution to an ageing flat roof on Ixworth Place, a prestigious residential property close to Chelsea in London, built in 1912.

The client also required a 20 year single point insurance backed guarantee and a reputable installing roof contractor.

IKO carried out a roof survey and core sample analysis which created a detailed condition report, then liaised with installing roofing contractors WAA Roofing Ltd to refine the specification to meet the client’s requirements.

This was to include an overlay of the existing asphalt system. The installation contract was monitored throughout by IKO’s technical personnel, producing written reports for the specifier, Faithorn Farrell Timms LLP.

With many years’ experience of working with Housing Associations, landlords, developers and homeowners themselves, IKO are the global leaders in roofing and waterproofing solutions and fully understand the need for a sensitive approach with minimal disruption to tenants, plus the ability to meet deadlines and budgets.

The specification included IKO’s Guardian (Hybrid) Warm Roof System which includes IKO Goldseal cap sheet as its final waterproofing membrane. IKO Goldseal membranes are produced using polyester reinforcements with exceptional mechanical strength and dimensional stability and are available as pour and roll or torch-on options.

There was no inconvenient disruption to the residents throughout Phase 1 and Phase 2 of this project, and they will benefit from the improved insulation (upgraded U-Value to 0.18W/m²K), especially during the winter months.
