Having been encouraged by Willmott Dixon, IKO is delighted to announce that site assessments by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) have been completed and IKO is now an official member.
The CCS is a not-for-profit, independent scheme created to improve the image of the construction industry. Members agree to abide by the Code of Considerate Practice, adopting positive working practices consistently above statutory obligations.
The scheme is nationally recognised and recommended by local authorities, the government, main contractors, and major industry clients.
Before being accepted as a CCS accredited organisation, companies face a detailed inspection process carried out by CCS Monitors who visit various sites and score what they witness against specific criteria relating to: appearance, community, environment, safety, and workforce.
Kerry Parker-Wray, Strategic Development Director at IKO, is delighted with the recognition: “The construction industry has an image problem that historically it may have deserved. Changing our image needs all of us to focus on improving the way we treat our staff, our environment, and our neighbours.
“Our team works hard to do that within IKO, and membership of CCS is great recognition of the commitment of that team and the changes that have been made.”
