IKO Polymeric’s Armourplan perfect match for school extension
A recent £3.3m extension to Errol Primary School in Perthshire used an innovative combination of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and traditional roof build up as a high performance roof element. The original building is of traditional sandstone construction with a pitched roof weathered with slate. A previous extension used a single ply membrane so contractors Morrison Construction and AIM Developments had to ensure the latest addition was designed to blend in. IKO Polymeric’s market leading IKO Armourplan P single ply membrane in slate grey was a perfect match.
IKO enertherm ALU insulation board was used in the SIPs, provided by Glulam Solutions. IKO Polymeric’s cold application IKO Spectravap was used as the vapour control barrier.
IKO Polymeric’s expertise was on hand to support the contractor and to assist Perth and Kinross Council throughout the design process, with drainage calculations and other technical details. A constant dialogue was kept up throughout the project, which was completed in May 2016.
