Mastic asphalt is a hot-applied waterproofing material manufactured from bitumen, limestone aggregate and mineral fillers. When installed, it forms a continuous, void-free waterproofing layer suitable for heavily trafficked areas such as car parks, loading bays and HGV service decks.
IKO Permapark is a polymer-modified mastic asphalt waterproofing system, with performance supported by independent assessment and BBA accreditation (Certificate No. 92/2792). It is used where repeated vehicle loading and surface movement requirements must be accommodated.

Sainsbury’s West Wickham Car Park
Cracking and water ingress on the upper deck of this busy supermarket car park were starting to affect the structure below. IKO Permapark was specified to deliver a fully trafficable mastic asphalt waterproofing solution suitable for a live retail environment, with installation completed while the car park remained open.
The project was awarded the Car Decks and Paving Project of the Year at the Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) Awards 2025.
