IKO PLC (UK) is thrilled that 3 of our projects have been named winners of 2024 RIBA Awards.
These latest winners are a welcome addition to an already successful award season for IKO, having won seven prestigious awards from reputable industry governing bodies, including the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA), and the Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC).
The restoration of the derelict Battersea Power Station has been one of the most publicised UK projects we have ever seen.
A Grade II listed building and an iconic London landmark, the former power station now houses apartments, retailers, restaurants, bars, and more.
IKO Permatec hot melt waterproofing systems and the IKO cold applied liquid waterproofing system were installed by main contractor BriggsAmasco to complete the brand-new roof.
A stone’s throw away from Edinburgh Waverley Station, The Fruitmarket Gallery in Scotland’s capital was enlarged and reinvented.
Once a city market, the work of Reiach and Hall architects means The Fruitmarket Gallery has since been refurbished. The extension of the adjacent warehouse building has created new spaces and elongated street frontage.
The roof of this project consists of an IKO reinforced bituminous membrane system.
Specified by Hawkins\Brown architects, the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building at the University of Warwick in Coventry was the recipient of the 2024 RIBA West Midlands Award.
The new 7,000m2 building based at the University of Warwick campus was purpose-built for primary research spaces with different spatial, servicing, and environmental requirements. This included wet labs, seminar areas, and other research facilities.
Working with main contractor Willmott Dixon, this project featured both our IKO Permatec inverted hot melt and IKO Armourplan single ply roofing system.
