Mastic asphalt flooring creates a smooth, tough, and durable surface, and can be installed to the required thickness in one coat using heat. When mastic asphalt flooring is used as an underlay, two coats may be required.
In addition to providing internal flooring solutions, mastic asphalt flooring is also used for paving. Its application is suitable across a range of performance needs, from minimal foot traffic to frequent vehicle use. Most forms of solid construction surfaces can be a suitable base for mastic asphalt flooring.
Heavy duty one coat can withstand loads of industrial factory floors with frequent traffic, including mechanical trucks and trolleys. The finish can be matt or polished and some products used for decorative flooring feature exposed aggregate in a variety of colours. Furthermore, the flooring can be sand rubbed if a non-slip surface is required.
Installation of mastic asphalt requires heat, and the material can be delivered in blocks or already melted down, depending on the needs of our clients. The rapid curing times of mastic asphalt allows for traffic on the floor as soon as it cools to ambient temperature.
This is ideal for the refurbishment of buildings that are in use, such as schools and hospitals. In new builds, other trades can gain access relatively fast, helping to streamline the project scheduling.
