Countryside Properties, New Avenue, Enfield – IKO Permatec Anti-Root

Project description

The contractor on a major new housing regeneration scheme has specified IKO’s Permatec hot melt waterproofing system across 2,000m2 of roof and terrace areas.

Kent-based contractors, Durable Contracts (Roofing) Ltd, chose IKO to be part of the prestigious housing scheme – New Avenue in Enfield, London – developed by Countryside Properties.

The phased redevelopment of the site included demolition of existing buildings and garages, and the construction of 412 apartments, 173 houses, a nursery, community centre, an outdoor play area and a 330-space under croft car park with a sustainable drainage system.

Solutions

The decision to use the IKO UPXL system offered a lengthy 30 year single point guarantee which (in addition to providing quality and value) was paramount to the project.

The decision to use the IKO UPXL system offered a lengthy 30 year single point guarantee which (in addition to providing quality and value) was paramount to the project.

Although the programme of work proved demanding due to multiple trades being on site at any one time, the project moved along at an efficient speed.

“This multi-phase project presented many challenges, which were easily overcome by working in partnership with Durable Contracts (Roofing) Ltd. to ensure the waterproofing solution was delivered and installed safety, on time and within budget.

“Durable Contracts followed the best practice advice they were given during our contractor training sessions and demonstrated excellent workmanship skills, ensuring the end client was extremely happy with the finished result.”
